London - The kingfisher is Britain's most popular bird, according to a new poll. The brilliant blue freshwater fishhunter heads the Top 10 of favourites selected by more than 100,000 readers of Bird Watching magazine.
The Peregrine falcon is second, followed by the recently-reintroduced red kite, the barn owl, and the tiny long-tailed tit.
