Kinshasa - Killer crocodiles are terrorising villagers in a corner of the Democratic Republic of the Congo where they have eaten at least 20 people, state radio reported yesterday. It said the crocodiles, preying on villagers on a tributary of the River Congo 125 miles north-east of the capital, were leaving their natural habitat, the river, "to chase farmers in their fields". Most of the victims are children.
