Spanish authorities said yesterday there were no suspicious circumstances in the death of Irish kick-boxer Ollie Walsh (33), writes Tom Worden.

Police are not investigating the death and a judge has already archived the case.

Mr Walsh, a former kick-boxing champion from Wexford, had been living in Spain for 18 months where he worked as a gym instructor.

He died in his home in Guaro, 30 miles from Malaga, on August 22nd. A spokeswoman for the Civil Guard said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
