Khmer Rouge cadres defect

Phnom Penh - Two top officials have split from the all-but extinct Khmer Rouge faction to pledge their support to Mr Hun Sen's government, Cambodian television announced yesterday. "Khmer Rouge intellectuals Tep Khunal and Khan Seourn said they were tired with the civil war in Cambodia so they decided to split from the last remaining hardliners warlord Ta Mok and ideological czar Noun Chea and to live in national society."
