Kinshasa - President Laurent Kabila yesterday accused the international community of imposing an embargo against his year-old government instead of supplying needed assistance.

Mr Kabila's forces marched into Kinshasa on May 17th last year, ending 30 years of rule by Mobutu Sese Seko. The country's name was changed from Zaire to Democratic Republic of Congo.
