The jury in the trial of a man charged with murdering his partner near Craughwell, Co Galway, two years ago  resumed deliberations today.

The Central Criminal Court is hearing the case in Galway under Mr Justice Paul Carney.

The jury was sent to a hotel  last night.

Kieran Lynch (40), Askeaton, Co Limerick, denies the murder of Catherine McEnery (35), Kilmeady, Co Limerick, between July 16th and 17th, 2005.

Bernard Madden SC, defending, said his client had been provoked and had lost control, hitting Ms McEnery with the leg of a chair.
