A former RUC constable faces a retrial on seven charges of rape after a Belfast jury yesterday failed to reach verdicts. The jury told Mr Justice Pringle there was no possibility of them even returning a majority verdict. Mr Eric Millar (46), of Lisnasharragh RUC station, denies raping a woman between April 1987 and January 1994. He was freed on continuing bail.
