The jury has failed to reach a verdict in the trial of a man for raping a woman after a wedding as her boyfriend slept beside her in a Tipperary hotel room.

The 27-year-old Tipperary man had pleaded not guilty to raping the woman on July 7th, 2008. After deliberations the jurors said they did not think they would agree on a verdict.

Mr Justice John Edwards remanded the man on bail to appear at the Central Criminal Court at the end of the month.
