The Dutch authorities have set a date for a decision on the appeal by a Dublin man, Mr Brian Meehan, against his extradition on charges in relation to the murder of Veronica Guerin.

The Dutch Supreme Court in The Hague will announce its decision on June 2nd, according to a spokeswoman. That decision will be referred back to the Amsterdam court which ruled that Mr Meehan should be extradited.

Mr Meehan was arrested by Amsterdam police outside the city's central station in October 1996, along with his girlfriend and an associate, Mr John Traynor, both of whom were later released.
