The Mayor of Derry, Mr Richard Dallas, will know today if his court action to regain the trappings of office has been successful. Mr Justice Kerr is due to deliver a reserved judgment this morning in the High Court in Belfast.

Mr Dallas (27), an Ulster, Unionist Party councillor, was effectively stripped of office by the nationalist controlled council in July after he took part in a loyalist blockade of Craigavon Bridge during the Drumcree stand off.
