A woman who failed to send her 11-year-old daughter to school has been remanded for a pre-sentence report. Judge James McDonnell told her that the question of sentence remained “at large”. She had been sentenced before to 14 days in jail for a similar offence.

The woman (41), Tallaght, Dublin, pleaded guilty to not complying with a school attendance notice of September 2010, requesting her to ensure her daughter’s attendance at national school.
