A Cork judge has dismissed two more drink driving cases on grounds of delays in bringing the matters to conclusion.

A Cork judge has dismissed two more drink driving cases on grounds of delays in bringing the matters to conclusion.

Judge Con O'Leary has now dismissed eight cases at Cork District Court in recent weeks.

The two cases dismissed today were over four years old. They has been delayed by legal challenges to the new Intoxyliser testing process, which replaced the old breathalyser bags.

It is understood up to 5,000 drink driving cases nationwide have been delayed because of legal challenges to the new Intoxyliser testing process.
