A shop assistant, who failed to convince a judge she had slipped and fallen on a tissue, saw her £30,000 damages claim against her employer dismissed in Dublin Circuit Civil Court yesterday.

Ms Noeleen Roche (28), of Terenure Road North, Terenure, Dublin, had told Judge James Carroll there was a lot of litter, including a tissue, on stairs leading to staff locker rooms in Roches Stores, Blackrock. She believed the tissue had caused her to slip and fall down the steps, injuring her back and ankle.

Judge Carroll said he had not been convinced there was any tissue on the floor.
