Judge Curtin charged with drink driving

Judge Brian Curtin has been charged at the District Court in Tralee with drink driving.

He is accused of driving with excess alcohol on May 8th last at Clonalour, Tralee, based on a urine sample.

Judge Curtin was stopped at the Ashe Street Roundabout, in the centre of Tralee, at 11.25 p.m. He  accompanied gardaí to Tralee Garda station, where he was arrested on suspicion of drink driving under Section 49 of the Road Traffic Act.

He gave a urine sample and was released an hour later.

Judge Curtin, who is said to be in poor health, was not in court this morning.

The case was adjourned until December 8th.
