Examiner Publications Ltd amicably settled with its former employee, Mr Sean O'Sullivan, at the start of the second day of a hearing by the Employment Appeals Tribunal.
Mr O'Sullivan, who is from Cork city, edited a weekly soccer supplement for the Evening Echo and was dismissed in November 1995 for gross misconduct after borrowing money from a freelance reporter from whom he commissioned work.
Details of the settlement were not revealed.
