Journalist flees death threats

Brasilia - A Brazilian journalist, Mariza Romao, a key witness of the 1996 massacre by police of 19 landless peasants, said she had had to flee for her life. After being threatened repeatedly by an anonymous caller warning about a police plot to silence her, Romao appealed to Brazilian authorities in the capital, Brasilia, to protect her and her two young children.
