Dhaka - A Bangladeshi journalist who often wrote about crime was shot dead in his office in western Jessore town, police said yesterday.

Two men armed with revolvers walked into the Janakantha newspaper bureau in Jessore on Sunday evening and shot 45-year-old Mr Shamsur Rahman at point blank range, police said. He died instantly.
