Amman - Jordanian army engineers destroyed 8,000 anti-personnel land mines in the third stage of a plan begun in September to get rid of stockpiles in line with international norms. The operation was part of a scheme to eliminate 90,000 mines over the next four years in line with the 1997 Ottawa Convention.
