Jobs in Irish construction rise by 0.5%

Employment in the Irish construction industry rose by 0.5 per cent in the year to December.

Employment in the Irish construction industry rose by 0.5 per cent in the year to December.

Figures released by the Central Statistics Office show the monthly employment index increased from 129.8 in December 2002 to 130.5 in December 2003.

The index is based on trends shown in a monthly sample inquiry covering 1,000 private building and construction firms with five or more employees.
