Jewellery worth €100,000 stolen

Almost €100,000 worth of jewellery was stolen by thieves in a robbery at a Limerick shopping centre at 2 a.m

Almost €100,000 worth of jewellery was stolen by thieves in a robbery at a Limerick shopping centre at 2 a.m. yesterday morning.

It is understood that two masked men forced their way in through a rear door at Occasions Jewellers at the Castletroy shopping centre. No cash was taken.

According to gardaí, the thieves were masked and detectives are examining video footage from the premises and from other outlets in the area in an attempt to establish a lead for their investigation.

Gardaí have issued an appeal to members of the public who witnessed anything suspicious in the area early yesterday, or late on Sunday night, to contact them immediately.
