Wicklow County Council has rejected the controversial planning application to build a private jetty to export aggregates (building materials) at Clonmannon, The Murrough, about two miles north of Wicklow town.

The application by Dan Morrissey (Ireland) Ltd was strongly opposed by residents. A petition of 1,600 signatures, objecting to the jetty, said it would spoil the amenity area.
