Rated by many as the finest traditional jazz clarinettist playing today, Kenny Davern (right) is a frequent visitor to this country, proof of his enduring popularity with fans of his music. His longtime association with Bob Wilber in the polished traditional group, So- prano Summit - in which each doubled on clarinet and soprano - brought him wide international acceptance, but nowadays he confines himself to clarinet. He returns next Thursday to the Stakis Hotel for the Dublin Jazz Society with some typically forthright and swinging melodic jazz in the company of Jim Doherty, Dave Fleming and John Wadham.
