A man who admitted fatally knocking a man down with a car after smoking cannabis was jailed for three years yesterday.

A man who admitted fatally knocking a man down with a car after smoking cannabis was jailed for three years yesterday.

Noel Quinlivan (23), St Patrick’s Villas, Castleconnell, Co Limerick, consumed alcohol and smoked “five or six joints” before knocking down Thomas O’Shea (40) in September 2009.

Quinlivan pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing the death of Mr O’Shea in Castleconnell on September 9th, 2009.
