A man who twice raped his young Co Cork brother-in-law was jailed for six years at the Central Criminal Court yesterday.

Mr Justice Flood said the 43-year-old man had been convicted of very serious offences which had had a substantial effect on the 14-year-old victim.

In July, a jury found the man guilty of two charges of buggering the boy on dates from 1991 to 1993. Mr Justice Flood rejected an application for a certificate to give leave to appeal the verdict.
