LONDON - British police have taken out advertisements in a leading gay newspaper in a bid to recruit more homosexual officers, the police said yesterday.
The advert in the Gay Times newspaper read: "Fancy a Chat with Tom." The move is an attempt to increase homosexuals within the ranks from its current level of "about 3 to 5 per cent" and to represent the community as a whole.
