One person was killed and another injured late on Friday when an explosion ripped through a rubbish container on a street in Turkey's largest city Istanbul, Turkish media reported.
The cause of the blast was not immediately clear.
Kurdish, leftist and Islamist militants have all carried out bomb attacks in Turkish cities in the past.
