The Independent Radio and Television Commission said yesterday that "significant progress" had been made in discussions with Radio Ireland on the station's proposed new broadcasting schedule.
The statement said that the discussions would continue over the coming days. The IRTC was "optimistic" that it would be in a position to agree the new programme schedule at an early date.
