IrishJobs.ie enters Scottish online market

Online recruitment firm, IrishJobs.ie, has acquired a 75 per cent stake ScottishAppointments.com.

Online recruitment firm, IrishJobs.ie, has acquired a 75 per cent stake ScottishAppointments.com.

The Scottish firm is valued at approximately £1 million sterling and is currently ranked second in the online recruitment sector in Scotland.

IrishJobs.ie says it plans "to adapt its successful business model for the vibrant Scottish market".

The group's chief executive, Ms Maria Mahon, said: "It is estimated that over 250,000 people are actively searching for a job at any one time in Scotland.

Ms Mahon said: "This, combined with a very active and vibrant online community in Scotland, represents a strong and favourable growth opportunity for us."

"Our research estimates that the online recruitment market in Scotland is worth over £15 million".

In 2000 IrishJobs.ie expanded its operation in Northern Ireland with the launch of NIjobs.com.
