Kiara Duncan (20) was a passenger in a Toyota Corolla hatchback that crashed through a central barrier in the Bedford suburb of Perth on Wednesday night and hit another car head-on.

Ms Duncan, from Kentstown, Co Meath, died at Royal Perth Hospital over the weekend. Colm Reilly, also aged 20, from Slane, Co Meath, died at the scene.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said the embassy in Canberra and the honorary consulate in Perth are assisting both families.

Seven tourists were travelling in the car. Three other Irish people - two women and a man aged between 19 and 25 - were treated for serious injuries.

A woman (64) who was driving the second car was also injured.
