Miriam Donohoe has been appointed News Editor of The Irish Times.
From Goresbridge, Co Kilkenny, she previously held the posts of Deputy News Editor, Asia Correspondent and Political Reporter.
A graduate of Journalism from the College of Commerce in Rathmines, she was News Editor and Assistant Editor of the Sunday Tribune before joining The Irish Times in 1999.
