The teething problems of Stena Line's new high speed ferry, the HSS Explorer, continued yesterday, with the vessel failing to meet a 9.00 a.m. deadline to resume sailing after repairs to a faulty water jet. The Explorer eventually left Holyhead after 2.00 p.m.

A spokesman said he hoped regular services could now be resumed. The ferry can carry 1,500 passengers on four sailings daily between Dun Laoghaire and Holyhead.
