Dublin-based leasing company AWAS has purchased 75 single-aisle Airbus planes valued at $5.5 billion (€3.7 billion) at list prices.

The contract for A320-series airliners brings to 136 the number of planes AWAS has on order at the France-based planemaker.

AWAS also has an option to buy a further 25 aircraft from Airbus. AWAS is owned by European equity firm Terra Firma Capital Partners. AWAS owns or manages 320 aircraft.
