Almost 300 non-nationals were granted Irish citizenship last year, according to the annual report of the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform. A total of 35,000 visa applications were dealt with by the Department of Justice and the Department of Foreign Affairs, with about 90 per cent being granted.
