The boat which will be used in the Irish Antarctic Expedition, South Aris, the Tom Crean, was launched on Saturday by the Minister of State for the Marine, Mr Eamon Gilmore, at Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.
The expedition will take place between January and March of next year.
