A man has died after a single vehicle crash in Co Meath.

The incident happened at around 12.30am Monday on the Kingscourt to Drumcondrath road.

The 25 year old male was seriously injured when the car he was driving hit a tree. He was taken by ambulance to Navan Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Local diversions are in place while gardaí conduct technical examinations.
