Insurgents who attacked US troops with hand grenades in central Baghdad today wounded 12 soldiers, the military said.

Insurgents who attacked US troops with hand grenades in central Baghdad today wounded 12 soldiers, the military said.

It said five soldiers were wounded in an initial attack, when eight grenades were thrown. An hour later, two more grenades were thrown, wounding five soldiers, and 45 minutes after that another grenade wounded two.

The military said eight suspects are being held in connection with the attacks.
