A suicide car bomber killed 10 people and wounded 22 others in Iraq today.
The attack took place in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk, and the death toll is likely to rise, police said.
Officials added the attack appeared to have targeted a convoy of police assigned to protect Iraq's northern oil infrastructure.
The bombing is the latest in a series of explosions in northern Iraq, where al-Qaeda and other insurgents have resisted crackdowns by US and Iraqi forces even as violence has fallen elsewhere in the country.
