DUBAI - Iran has begun rebuilding thousands of homes destroyed by a deadly earthquake in the country's north western Ardabil province in February, the region's governor general said yesterday.
Nearly 1,000 people were killed, about 2,600 injured and 36,000 left homeless in the quake which rocked the mountainous area with an intensity of 5.5 on the Richter scale.
