An invitation to the singer Sinead O'Connor to sing at a Trocaire fund raising event has been withdrawn because she publicly tore up a picture of the Pope four years ago, the organisation said yesterday. Ms O'Connor had not responded to the invitation.
The concert is part of a campaign to highlight civil rights abuses by the Nigerian military government.
