ANKARA - Foreign Minister, Ms Tansu Ciller was sentenced by an Ankara court to pay $40,000 (£24,000) to Islamist Prime Minister, Mr Necmettin Erbakan, in compensation for having insulted him before last year's general elections.
Ms Ciller, a conservative former premier, publicly accused Mr Erbakan of "smuggling heroin" and "embezzling funds collected for Bosnian Moslems" before the December 24th elections.
