An inquiry into a complaint against a home birth midwife, Ms Ann O Ceallaigh, before the fitness to practise committee of An Bord Altranais ended yesterday.
The closing arguments in a case which has cost more than £500,000 were given to the committee, and the regulatory board for nurses will now decide on a verdict, expected before the board meets next month. Yesterday's hearing was the 18th day of the inquiry since March 1998.
