Inquiries into death of council worker

A male Cork County Council worker has died while working near a water reservoir at Carr's Hill close to Cork city.

A male Cork County Council worker has died while working near a water reservoir at Carr's Hill close to Cork city.

It is understood he may have been struck by a pole or beam. The 47-year-old was taken to Cork University Hospital after the incident yesterday afternoon. He died last night.

The Health and Safety Authority and Cork County Council have begun inquiries. In a statement Cork County Council extended its sympathy to the wife and family of the dead man.
