LONDON - The headmaster Mr Philip Lawrence (48) was senselessly stabbed to death outside his school in Maida Vale, as he tried to save a pupil from attack by a juvenile gangs of would be Triads, the Old Bailey heard yesterday.

The gang's leader - a 15 year old of Filipino extraction acting "with a mixture of bravado and adrenaline" - knifed Mr Lawrence in the chest as he went to aid the pupil, aged 13, in December last year, the court was told.
