An Iarnrod Eireann worker who broke three ribs when he fell off a train at Connolly Station, Dublin, has failed in a damages claim. Mr Liam Nolan, of Willow Park Road, Glasnevin, Dublin, told Mr Finbarr Fox, counsel for Iarnrod Eireann, that while he had been supplied with anti-slip footwear for his work, he felt anti-slip steel studs on a ladder had been worn down to an unsafe level.

The Circuit Court President, Mr Justice Esmond Smyth, said Mr Nolan's accident had been the only one on the ladder and awarded costs against him.
