Jakarta - Indonesia's military has replaced two allies of the sacked Gen Wiranto with reformist officers in top army posts, bolstering President Abdurrahman Wahid's efforts to take the military out of politics.

The military said it would appoint outspoken, reformist Maj Gen Agus Wirahadikusumah to head the country's powerful army strategic command, Kostrad.
