The offices of Independent Newspapers in Dublin were picketed yesterday evening by a group protesting about coverage of refugee issues in the group's newspapers. A spokesman for the Anti-Racist Campaign claimed the Independent Group's coverage was "entirely negative" and helped to contribute to anti-refugee sentiment. The group also plans to picket the constituency clinic of the backbench Fianna Fail TD, Mr Ivor Callely, in Clontarf, Dublin, tomorrow.
