The managing director of Independent Newspapers, Mr David Palmer (above), has been appointed to the board of directors of the International Federation of Newspaper Publishers (FIEJ) in Paris. He succeeds the Group Managing Director and Deputy Chief Executive of The Irish Times, Mr Louis O'Neill.
Mr Palmer will represent the National Newspapers of Ireland, the newspaper industry's representative body. Mr O'Neill, who is the chairman of National Newspapers of Ireland, has stood down from the board of FIEJ after six years in accordance with the rules of the organisation.
