Telecoms company Imagine Communications Group confirmed today it has bought Clearwire’s Irish operations.
Imagine plans to use the infrastructure to roll-out its high speed wireless Wimax network nationwide.
"This is a very significant and strategic deal for us as Clearwire is one of the world's leading 4G operators," said Imagine's managing director Brian O'Donohoe.
Under the deal, Clearwire becomes a minority shareholder in Imagine.
