The SDLP leader, Mr John Hume, has said he has not yet made a decision on whether he will seek to become the next President.
Mr Hume, who returned to Northern Ireland yesterday from a holiday in France, told reporters: "I have not made a decision because I have been on holidays. I have been taking a complete break with my wife, and have not discussed the issue with my party colleagues."
