Gardaí in Dublin are investigating after a human skull was discovered in a garden on the south of the city.

Gardaí in Dublin are investigating after a human skull was discovered in a garden on the south of the city.

A Garda statement said the discovery was made in a garden at Orlagh Grove Estate, Rathfarnham, at 1pm today by a person clearing undergrowth.

The skull is believed to be that of an adult male, the statement said.

"The State Pathologist has been notified and will conduct an examination at a later stage. The scene is being preserved for a technical examination."
